Learn to play amazing guitar solos

across the whole neck, in any key.....

.....and amaze your friends and audience!

Ever wished you could play amazing guitar solos across the whole neck?

Are you fed up of your solos always sounding the same?

Do you wish you could stand out from the crowd and make people say, "How did he do that?"

Do you wish you could understand modes and how to apply them to your own playing?

"Rock Licks and Concepts" is a brand new DVD course that explains how to do just this. The course contains 3 DVD's and a datadisc, but whereas many DVD's show you a bunch of licks with no explanation, this course shows you how to understand everything you ever play so that you can apply it to your own playing.

rock licks and concepts

For example did you know that 'Back in Black' is in the key of E mixolydian? "Rock Licks and Concepts" explains why and what you can gain from knowing this.

Did you know that you can use modes over a 12 bar blues or that there is a way of practising sweep picking slow?

You can learn the following from this course:

How to improvise across the whole neck

How to improvise in any key

How to play the minor and major pentatonic scales

How to play the blues scale

How to play the major scale

How to use the CAGED method

How to harmonise scales

How scales and chords interact

How to sweep pick and alternate pick

How to recognise the scales and arpeggios being use by your favourite players

How to understand and apply intervals

How to understand and apply modes

How to use different modes over chord progressions

How to play cool techniques such as unsion bends, catch bends and violining

......and much more

"Rock Licks and Concepts" not only shows you all the above, but also points you in the right direction so you go on learning forever.

How?

Well to better understand, have a look at one of my favourite sayings:

"Don't just learn a lick, learn from a lick"

In other words, don't just learn a lick, learn to understand it, where it comes from and how you can apply it to your own playing, in different keys, anywhere on the neck. For example, let's say you've just learnt a Steve Vai solo. It's great to be able to play it, but it's even better to understand what he's doing and how you can apply that knowledge to your own playing.

The way "Rock Licks and Concepts" does this is by explaining the soloing methods, techniques and theories used by all the great players. What the course isn't is a bunch of licks with no explanation. There are licks to learn on the DVDs but only after an explanation of how to really understand them. So I'll say it again "Don't just learn a lick, learn from a lick"

So Who am I?

I'm Andy Ridgeway, an experienced professional player and most importantly a guitar teacher. I'm also a graduate of The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) - the leading guitar school in Europe where I had the pleasure of being taught by some of the best players in Britain such as Guthrie Govan and Pete Callard. In short I'm a pro musician who knows his stuff and understands the frustrations learning an instrument can bring.

Why did I make this course?

I've discovered through years of teaching that well over 90% of players don't understand what's going on in the songs they play, in terms of harmony and music theory. Even students that come to me with years of experience almost never know the stuff in "Rock Licks and Concepts". Amazingly most degree students don't know this stuff!

Here's an example: Have you ever noticed how "pub players" all sound the same and frankly a little boring? The reason for this is simply that they all play the same. I can tell you now with a great degree of certainty that almost every pub player you'll ever meet knows one pentatonic scale shape well and at best a couple more scale shapes. They learn these scales when they're young and then for some reason learn nothing else for the rest of their lives.

"Why limit yourself?"

Here's an interesting fact. You can always learn something new on guitar that will make you a better player. Anyone who says they know everything is a liar or extremely arrogant and naive. The greatest players in the world are still on a relentless quest for perfection. If Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Eric Johnson, Pat Metheny and Joe Satriani knew everything, why do they still practise?

So that's why I made "Rock Licks and Concepts", to help ensure that your playing doesn't stagnate and that you don't end up sounding like everyone else. In short, I want you to become an awesome player.

"Knowledge is power......"

.....But only when applied, and whereas most tuitional DVD's want to give you a quick fix, I want to give you immense knowledge and then show you how to use it.

And the learning doesn't stop there. What you learn in "Rock Licks and Concepts" sets you up for life to better understand anything you come across whether it be a new technique, new theory, a new lick or solo etc.

Now let's talk about modes for a minute. You may have heard of them or even tried to learn them. The vast majority of guitarists (probably about 99%) don't understand modes and find them confusing and frustrating. Well, I know how that feels because I once felt the same.

However, I now know that modes aren't difficult to understand provided you learn everything that comes before them. In other words learn to walk before you can run. "Rock Licks and Concepts" unveils all the secrets surrounding modes including what they are and how to use them. The only way to do this is to learn certain scales and theory first. Now before you run out the door, scared silly by the words 'scales and theory', please don't be alarmed. This course explains everything clearly and consisely and assumes no prior knowledge of music theory and you don't need to be able to read music to use this course.
